The final part of a four part series that tracks the progress of a storm.
Kuuro, the colour green and the element Wood are the subject of the final part, showing the completion of the storm and the excess water is being rid of from the trees.
I like how the trees came out, actually, even though I hate drawing trees because of their difficult structure.
--------------------------
I used the wrong end of a brush and black ink for the lines and watercolour to colour. I like the effect of the lines a lot because it was quick, messy and kind of experimental for me.
With this series, I wanted to experiment with ink and how I made lines and I really wanted to draw lots of rain too. I also wanted to draw reasonably interesting backgrounds. play with atmosphere and colours and contrasts and I wanted to work in each characters element.
And finally, I wanted to make sure none of the characters were looking at the viewer, even if they were facing towards them. That's a lot of stuff I wanted to try out, I know, but I think I managed to have a go with all of them
Media- Black ink and watercolour
Time- about an hour and a half, very fast.
Very cute. Makes me think of Zelos, from Slayers XD I think a shot of him in the tree and looking at the floor at something would've been cute, too... what? I'm just saying!
OK, this is my second favourite of the four, like storm approaching it really benefits from the overriding use of single base colour throughout. I also really like the styleised tree+raindrops which work really well with the funky outlining.

Do you think so? Well, that's okay cus I just wanted to play around with linemaking. I guess the lines are kind of bad, aren't they?

But it's okay! I like his costume so much that I don't really care where you got the idea from.

This newsletter was "born" back in March 2007, from a conversation between ~Lareth and =FrozenStarRo, who with the help of their friends *Iardacil and =Sylwiaa , wanted to make something to promote known and unknown photomanipulators alike here on DeviantArt. As of September 2009 =ImaginaryRosse joined the project and will be helping us out with the weekly choices. While things have changed over time, the essence of the newsletter is still the same. As of recent, the talented =Behana has joined us in bringing you this weekly newsletter and we are excited to have her on board. This is a special feature, with a selection of 50 manips from the past year that we loved.
